A brand guidelines document explains how you want your company to be perceived. It contains all the details that define your brand and the way they should be used to ensure consistency. It is often used by designers to make sure they're using the right fonts, colour palette and versions of your logo. But is is also a resource that can be used to demonstrate what makes your company unique. It brings together the essence of your company in one document: your values, your mission and your visual identity.
Once you've got your brand sorted the next step for any new business is to set up a website. I create information-only websites for small businesses that need an online presence without breaking the bank. An information-only website means that it does not serve a function such as online sales or bookings but rather gives visitors an overview of the company and a way to get in touch. (This website is a good example.)
A typical information-only website for a new business might have the following pages:
• Homepage • About us • Our product or service • Portfolio of work and testimonials • Contact
The web design service I provide requires colaboration from yourself as the business owner. You will need to provide the written content for your website which I can then base the design on. You will also need appropriate images. You may have some already which you can send to me, we may be able to use stock images which I can advise on, or you may need to have some taken. Luckily I'm also photographer and can do that too!
Below are some examples of websites I have built. Click on the screens to visit the sites.
